Senator Halford, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Resources Senate Committee Substitute offered on page 3068. Senator Duncan objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objections, SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 51(RES) was adopted and read the second time. 1998-04-17 Senate Journal Page 3344 HJR 51 Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the resolution be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered. SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 51(RES) was read the third time. Senators Halford, Torgerson, Green, Leman, Taylor, Duncan, Adams, Lincoln, Hoffman, Ward, Mackie, Donley, Sharp moved and asked unanimous consent that they be shown as cross sponsors on the resolution. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ward moved and asked unanimous consent that he be allowed to abstain from voting because of a conflict of interest. Objections were heard and Senator Ward was required to vote. The question being: Shall SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 51(RES) Relating to support for H.R. 2924, which allows certain Alaska Native Vietnam era veterans and the Elim Native Corporation to select land under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, pass the Senate?
